At Home Spa-Like Retreat

There is nothing like a steamy, fragrant soak in the tub to relax your mind and body. This well-deserved “me time” is often pushed to the side due to the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. In honour of National Bubble Bath Day, we’ve put together 6 simple steps to experiencing a spa-like retreat in the privacy of your own home.

Create Your Setup

Gather all your bubble bath essentials and keep them within arm’s reach. The last thing you want to do is hop out of the tub to grab a book or change the music when you’re relaxing. Consider investing in a bathtub caddy to keep your bathtub essentials organized and within reach. It simply lays across the width of the bathtub, with the ability to hold drinks, books, magazines, or even gadgets.

Dim the Lights and Breathe

Create ambiance by turning down the lights and burning a candle (or three). The warm flickering light and aromatic scent will make your bathroom feel like a spa. Consider using scented candles with lavender, jasmine or vanilla for a calming effect!

Set the Temperature

A good bath is all about the temperature of the water. Bathwater that is too cool will cut your relaxation time short, while bathwater that is too hot will just make you sweat. In general, you always want to feel comfortable when stepping into the tub.

Add Some Bubbles

To create a satisfying amount of bubbles, wait until there are a couple of inches of water in the tub before adding your chosen bubble bath. When pouring, add the bubble bath slowly and right underneath the running water. The stronger the water pressure, the more bubbles you’ll enjoy!


Sip and Soak

Now is the perfect time to sit back and fully indulge. A crisp glass of wine or soothing herbal tea will complete your spa-like retreat.

Seal the Deal

Once you have properly dried off, treat yourself to one last layer of pampering! Moisturize with your favourite product and then crawl into bed. You will be left feeling both silky smooth and squeaky clean!
