You have no items in your shopping cart.
A brand-new year is brimming with possibilities, predictions, and goals to accomplish! You may be vowing to get healthy or spend more time with loved ones, but what about your home – the place where you spend most of the year? We’ve come up with 5 New Year’s resolutions that will make your home a more beautiful and comfortable place to live, along with some tips on how to accomplish them!
1. Cut the Clutter
With every passing year, the average household is bound to accumulate clutter. You might have seen a lamp for a great price or a jacket you just couldn’t pass up. Before you know it, all this “stuff” ends up in our homes that we may not have needed or even loved in the first place. This year, make it a resolution to cut the clutter by going through each room and evaluating smaller items such as décor, clothing, and accessories. Toss anything that is broken, and donate the items that no longer excite you.
2. Invest in Organization
It’s no secret that an organized home saves you time, money and peace of mind! If you don’t have a designated spot for your belongings, you quite often spend more time looking for items, buying things you don’t actually need, and stressing yourself out even further. Start by making a list of organizational pieces that you’re missing out on, and slowly acquire them throughout the year.
Do you secretly love printed wallpaper, or have you been eyeing a bold accent chair? Be brave and break out of the old tried-and-true decorating rules! We know the thought may be a little intimidating, but why play it safe? Make 2019 a year where you allow yourself to indulge your instinct. Taking a few design risks will expand your creativity, leading to a truly one-of-a-kind home!
4. Tackle a Project
We all have that one project we’ve been putting off for months or maybe even years. Your living room might be outdated, or your kitchen cabinets are in desperate need of repainting. Start by creating a special account where you can slowly save up for the items you need to make it happen. When you reach your goal, dive in and tackle that project. It will feel good to finally check it off your list!
If you’re not ready to tackle a bigger project, there is still something satisfying about changing up the small details of your home! You could start by polishing up the bedrooms with new sheets or updating your kitchen with new hardware. Little tweaks make a big difference in the overall feel of your home!
